This as the Municipal Demarcation Board (MDB) had to cancel its scheduled public consultations due to the national Covid-19 lockdown. MDB Chairperson, Thabo Manyoni, told OFM News that the board embarks on these consultations ahead of the local government elections to lay the foundation for the delivery of free and fair elections. This, as the 2021 Local Government Elections are looming. 

Manyoni says because of the pandemic, they had to cancel consultations in five provinces, namely the Free State, Northern Cape, North West, Limpopo and parts of Gauteng.

He, therefore, encourages residents in these provinces to submit their written submissions by the mentioned date. 

Manyoni says written submissions are the only formal submissions that will be accepted.
