#CoronavirusSA: DA loses court bid challenging lockdown─── 06:11 Thu, 02 Jul 2020
Government has won another court battle against lockdown regulations aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19.
The Constitutional Court has dismissed an application by the Democratic Alliance challenging the regulations of the Disaster Management Act.
The DA says the Act gives Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) Minister, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, wide-ranging powers.
The party also questioned the separation of powers between Parliament and the national executive.
The Constitutional Court ruled it's not in the interest of justice for the matter to be heard.
