SAA unions agree to severance packages─── 09:07 Wed, 08 Jul 2020
The majority of unions at SAA have accepted voluntary severance packages, including the two biggest unions at the national carrier -- Numsa and Sacca.
The Department of Public Enterprises said it's uncertain about the position of the SAA Pilots Association.
SAAPA is engaging directly with the business rescue practitioners on severance packages.
A thousand SAA employees will be retained.
Around 2,700 staff will be retrenched and will be able to access the voluntary severance packages once a business rescue plan is endorsed.
Creditors are set to vote on the plan on 14 July.
