Eskom warns power grid under pressure─── 06:35 Thu, 09 Jul 2020
Eskom has called on the public to reduce their electricity consumption as two generation units are offline and the generation system is constrained.
Eskom spokesperson Sikhonathi Mantshantsha warned if more generating units keep on failing, the utility will resort to load-shedding sooner than anticipated.
"This constrained supply situation may persist through the weekend.
"Eskom teams are hard at work trying to return these units to service," the utility said in a statement.
"The public's cooperation in managing demand will help us supply the country's demand through peak periods."
