The Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 89.6%, according to the latest statistics released by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize on Friday evening.
The cumulative number of cases stands at 668 529, with 1 480 new cases in the 24 hours reporting cycle leading up to Friday.
There were also 29 fatalities.
"Five from Eastern Cape, five from KwaZulu-Natal, five from Gauteng, two from Limpopo, eight from Northern Cape and four from Western Cape," said Mkhize.
This brings the total number of Covid-related deaths to 16 312.
