National State of Disaster extended─── LEATILE LEIEE 15:42 Wed, 14 Oct 2020
The National State of Disaster is being extended from Thursday, when it would have expired, to 15 November 2020.
This according to a notice by the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, as published in the Government Gazette. This decision was taken to continue to increase the existing legislation and contingency arrangements undertaken by organs of state, to address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
South Africa moved to level 1 restrictions at the beginning of September, allowing the easing of mass gatherings and the newly outlined midnight curfew. This is a developing story, as OFM News awaits government updates.
