Hawks approach Interpol in #Bushiri pursuit─── 06:46 Wed, 18 Nov 2020
The Hawks have applied for a red notice with Interpol in their pursuit of Shepard and Mary Bushiri.
Hawks spokesperson, Katlego Mogale, says it will allow them to interact with their counterparts in Malawi. It comes after a warrant of arrest was issued for the couple - who skipped bail and fled to Malawi - claiming they fear for their safety.
The self-proclaimed prophet and his wife are accused of fraud and money laundering. They were arrested last month and spent a little over two weeks in jail before being released on bail of R200 000 each. As part of their bail conditions - they had to report to a police station on Mondays and Fridays, but they failed to do so this past Friday.
