#Zondo delays recusal decision, again─── 05:12 Thu, 19 Nov 2020
Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo has again delayed his decision on whether he will remain as chairperson of the state capture inquiry.
Zondo has postponed his recusal decision to Thursday. Zondo, was expected to announce his decision on Wednesday morning.
Zuma says Zondo is biased and has created a persecutory environment.
It was previously reported Zondo will respond to a recusal application brought by former president Jacob Zuma's legal team which took the whole day to deliberate on Monday.
He said on Monday he hoped to deliver his judgment by Tuesday morning at 10am, but said reaching a decision could take longer.
The recusal application could have far-reaching implications on the commission's work over the last two years, involving 257 witnesses.
Zondo has said he cannot recuse himself because he is the sole member of the inquiry.
Zuma's legal team says Zondo will be biased against the former president because of their personal history.
The former president's team also warns that if Zuma is forced to testify, he will simply not say anything.
