Zondo dismisses Zuma's application for recusal─── 12:02 Thu, 19 Nov 2020

Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo announced his decision to dismiss former president Jacob Zuma's application for his recusal from the state capture inquiry.
"The applicant [Zuma] has failed to meet the test for reasonable apprehension of bias... and is dismissed," Zondo said in conclusion of a week-long process of arguments and deliberations.
Zuma filed an additional affidavit this week, in which he says Zondo was downplaying their relationship, insisting they are friends.
Zondo denied this claim and said, "the applicant cannot be allowed to raise this issue [personal relationship] so late in the day."
Last month, Zuma wrote to the commission saying he believes Zondo is biased based on their historical family relations.
Zondo responded by disclosing that he had a child with the sister of former first lady, Thobeka Madiba, about 25 years ago.
