The health department said 61 more people have died from COVID-19, with almost half coming from the Eastern Cape.
The death toll has risen to 21,439.
More than 3,100 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded, bringing the total number of cases to 785,139.
The health department said 723,347 people have already recovered.
Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize urged South Africans to use the COVID Alert SA app.
