Cele says he was disappointed to see scores of locals and tourists ignoring lockdown regulations at the Durban beachfront on Saturday.

He participated in operations to curb criminal activity and enforce COVID-19 rules.

Cele says police officers can only remind people to do the right thing. But he is now calling to say it must "be a serious offence", adding he wants to make the call to the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC), too.
