Solidarity Fund sets aside millions for #Covid19 vaccine─── 17:48 Tue, 15 Dec 2020
The Solidarity Fund has set aside over R300-million towards receiving a vaccine from the global Covax programme.
The World Health Organization launched the programme to speed up the search for an effective vaccine against COVID-19.
"From the fund's perspective, we see it hugely important that we accelerate the roll-out of the vaccines in South Africa," says deputy chairperson, Adrian Enthoven.
According to Enthove, that is the only way that there can be an attempt to end the devastation caused by the virus.
About 10 percent of the population will be vaccinated.
