The wine industry body wants the government to consult with it before putting a blanket ban on alcohol sales in future.

"The approach is very much that of ensuring that any major decisions that impact our businesses are taken on a provincial level," says Vinpro's Maryna Calow.

Many jobs have been lost in the industry, while some companies across various affected sectors have shut their doors.

Meanwhile, President Cyril Ramaphosa, on Monday, announced adjusted Level 3 lockdown restrictions.

It remains compulsory for every person to wear a mask in a public space and the new curfew hours are from 11pm to 4am.
