SA records 1 429 new #Covid19 cases─── 05:22 Mon, 22 Feb 2021
The Health Department has recorded 1 429 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa to 1 503 796.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 892 515 with 24 856 new tests recorded since the last report.
The department regrettably reported a further 113 COVID-19 related deaths, Eastern Cape two, Free State 12, Gauteng 17, KwaZulu-Natal one, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 0, North West 69, Northern Cape two and Western Cape 10, which brings the total to 49 053 deaths.
Health Department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the healthcare workers who treated the deceased patients.
The recoveries now stand at 1 412 015, representing a recovery rate of 93,8%.
The number of healthcare workers vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol is 15 388 as of 6pm on 21 February 2021.
