#Zuma claims ill health─── 05:38 Mon, 05 Jul 2021
Former president Jacob Zuma insists his 15-month sentence is unconstitutional as he never had a trial.
Zuma maintains he is innocent, saying health issues prevented him from returning to the state capture commission.
The Constitutional Court found him guilty of contempt of court after he refused to return to the commission. Zuma remains adamant that commission chairperson, Raymond Zondo, is biased against him.
Meanwhile, dozens of Zuma’s supporters, including some amabutho (Zulu warriors), have been gathering outside Zuma’s Nkandla homestead.
They have vowed not to allow Zuma to be arrested and taken to prison to begin serving his sentence.
