All provincial and regional ANC Youth League (ANCYL) structures have been dissolved.
In a letter dated July 22, addressed to ANC Provincial and Regional structures, the party's National Youth Task Team announces the decision.
ANCYL Coordinator, Joy Maimela, says the decision stems from a meeting that took place at the beginning of the month. Maimela says this is to address the youth league's challenges with leaders who have exceeded their term of office and structures that are still inclusive of individuals above the age groups set out by the ANC constitution.
Maimela says all provincial and regional structures of the ANC Youth League are officially dissolved and the structure's National Youth Task Team will soon communicate a way forward.
A member of the ANC Youth League in the Free State, who wishes to remain anonymous, meanwhile told OFM News expectations are that appointments of new structures will be made by September.
