Children between the ages of 12 and 17 will be allowed to get vaccinated from the 20th of October, without the consent of their parents.
The Minister of Health, Joe Phaahla, held a media briefing on Friday morning to inform the public of the latest developments in the country's fight against the Covid pandemic.
He says the Ministerial Advisory Committee has recommended one dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
Parents can take their kids to any private or public healthcare facility from Wednesday next.
The Acting District General for the Department of Health, Dr Nicholas Crisp, added that children do not need consent from their parents to get the jab.
