AA welcomes move to review fuel price─── 10:48 Tue, 14 Dec 2021
The Automobile Association (AA) is pleased there will be a review of the way that fuel prices are calculated.
Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana, has conceded that government must consider reforming the way the fuel price is calculated.
His remarks come as prices hit another record high in December, with the inland petrol price rising above R20 a litre.
Regulated fuel prices, which include numerous levies and taxes, have increased by 40% in 2021.
Civil society has called for the government to be more transparent with the way levies are calculated and effected.
The AA says that it hopes that it will be a consultative process.
