Businessman Edwin Sodi, who is also still the subject of a corruption case related to a R255 million asbestos project in the Free State, has been granted bail of R150 000 after he was arrested on Tuesday when he handed himself over to the police.
Sodi faces a charge of attempted murder, two counts of pointing of a firearm, as well as a charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
This follows after an encounter with estranged wife, Nthateng Lerata, at his upmarket Bryanston home last week. Lerata alleges Sodi attacked her and a male friend on the premises.
