The dismissal of the application for the separation of trial by several accused in the Mandela funeral money laundering scandal, will lead to further delays in the case.
That's according to defence attorney, André Schoombee, who is representing former Buffalo City mayor, Zukiswa Ncitha.
Last week he brought an application on Ncitha's behalf, supported by counsel for the other accused, to separate their case from that of accused number 1, Phumlani Mkolo.
He is petitioning the Appeals Court over the dismissal of his application for Judge Igna Stretch to recuse herself.
Meanwhile, NPA regional spokesperson Luxolo Tyali, says the state is ready to proceed with the trial on the 30th of this month.
