Eskom implements Stage 4 power cuts indefinitely─── 06:19 Thu, 29 Sep 2022
Brace yourself for even more darkness: Eskom is implementing Stage 4 load-shedding "until further notice".
The power utility says this is due to delays in the supply of diesel.
A vessel carrying the fuel has been unable to berth in Mossel Bay due to rough seas.
Eskom says it will have to preserve low diesel levels at the Gourikwa power station in the Western Cape.
Delivery to the Ankerlig power station in Atlantis, Cape Town will take time as road tankers do it.
Stage 4 will be maintained until diesel supply resumes to the two open-cycle gas turbines.
Eskom also reported a technical problem with the water chemistry at the Camden Power Station in Ermelo, Mpumalanga, resulting in having to shut down of all seven units.
