There has been no evidence to back up allegations of a potential terrorist assault this weekend in Sandton, according to police minister Bheki Cele.
Cele promised South Africans that this weekend's events will all be safe.
The US Embassy sent a cryptic alert earlier this week, warning its workers of a potential terrorist attack on Saturday 29 October.

The National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure, meanwhile, has denounced the dissemination of false news about an impending terror assault in South Africa.
