Eskom says Stage 6 power cuts to continue indefinitely─── 14:30 Wed, 07 Dec 2022
Eskom has ramped up power cuts to Stage 6 until further notice.
It blames a large number of breakdowns at several generation units.
The utility says it's being forced to strictly conserve fuel reserves for its diesel-fired gas turbines, given budget restrictions.
The turbines are usually used for emergency power generation to avoid power cuts.
Eskom has asked consumers to be patient and tolerant during these dark times.
