'Yes' vote means no one was threatened, says Lamola─── 05:28 Wed, 14 Dec 2022
What now for the five ANC MPs who defied the party by voting to adopt the Section 89 report into the Phala Phala matter?
Among them are Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Mosebenzi Zwane and Supra Mahumapelo.
Their vote, had it been successful, would've paved the way for President Cyril Ramaphosa's possible impeachment.
ANC MP Gwede Mantashe said the ANC processes will take their course.
"You report it to the committee looking at discipline, and it decides what action to take," he said. "We can't put the cart before the horse."
ANC MP Ronald Lamola said that is proof that the ANC did not threaten anyone.
"The NEC will deliberate and decide what to do with the members who have gone against what the party has guided its members toward."
A total of 214 MPs voted against the report.
