Ramaphosa to know his fate on Monday─── 06:15 Fri, 13 Jan 2023
The South Gauteng High Court has reserved judgment in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s urgent application to interdict his private prosecution by his predecessor, Jacob Zuma.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will find out on Monday whether he has persuaded a court to grant him an interim interdict that would prevent former President Jacob Zuma from hauling him before a criminal court on 19 January.
After hearing arguments in Ramaphosa’s urgent bid to stop the prosecution in its tracks for now, pending on whether the prosecution is lawful and constitutional, a full bench of the high court in Johannesburg reserved judgment.
Ramaphosa filed papers to halt Zuma’s plans to have him privately prosecuted.
