Update released on energy action plan─── 07:11 Sun, 22 Jan 2023
The National Energy Crisis Committee has published an update on the Energy Action Plan's implementation's six-month progress.
This comes after Stage 6 outages and widespread calls for the government to act quickly to resolve the problem.
The presidency says in a statement that in July of last year, President Cyril Ramaphosa unveiled a number of initiatives.

Additionally, the president has directed law enforcement organisations to step up their efforts to safeguard the electrical grid.
The proposal, according to presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya, would put a stop to the power outages.
