Bloemfontein - Free State Stars are happy with the players that have been identified during trials in Bethlehem and will be looking to include them in the team's pre-season camp.

This is according to team spokesperson, Lebohang Maketa, who said that the trials organiser, Themba Sithole, had nothing but praises for the players at the trials.

“When I spoke to him [Sithole], he said he was happy with the players he got out of the trials. There will possibly be six players who will enter into the discussions with the club management,” Maketa told OFM Sport.

Maketa could not reveal the names of the players, saying they would only do so after the discussions between the club and players have been concluded.

“We have the names already, but discussions among the players, their agents and the club management must take place before they can be revealed,” he added.

Maketa neither confirmed, nor denied reports suggesting that the club is interested in signing an unknown player from the SAFA Second Division, instead mentioned that the search continues.

“I might not know the player, but all I know is that there is a huge interest in the ABC Motsepe league players. However, at this point, it hasn’t been announced.”

“The technical team will be touring the world in search of players. We are busy traveling Africa and overseas. We’ve been to Botswana and Lesotho and we might be going to the Congo and Mali”

“There is a huge possibility that we’ll have two Lesotho players joining us for the pre-season camp, for assessment, so we will see how it goes,” Maketa concluded.

The team will return to the camp on 20 June.

The 2014/15 Premier Soccer League will commence on the weekend of the 8 to 10 August. Stars will kick-off against Kaizer Chiefs.

The venues and times are yet to be confirmed.
