Siwelele vs Golden Arrows at Slaughterhouse for full house─── MORGAN PIEK 11:59 Sat, 09 Aug 2025

A new era of football in Bloemfontein and the Free State kicks off with a bang on Saturday night.
Siwelele FC will make their Premier Soccer League debut in the city when they host Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in the opening round of the league in front of a full house.
This Rocklands match is officially sold out online, and only limited tickets are still available, with 22,000 fans expected to attend and help create the famous electrifying atmosphere at the ground. It is nicknamed the Slaughterhouse for its reputation as a tough place for visiting teams.

On Thursday, head coach and local legend Lehlohonolo Seema told OFM Sport during the team’s launch in Bloemfontein they will show why their home ground is known as the Slaughterhouse.
“You can see the excitement here, you can see how happy the people are – you’d think there’s a match on today, but it’s just an ordinary Thursday,” said Seema.
“That shows how long these people have been waiting for a day like this. From the players’ side, I’m happy they’ve experienced this now, so they won’t be overwhelmed on Saturday.

They’ve seen the numbers and the kind of support we have, and come Saturday, there’ll be even more. We’re more than ready.
“Siwelele is a culture. What we saw today proves that the culture hasn’t changed. The other team in Bloemfontein will feel it, and the whole PSL will too.”
Meanwhile, on Saturday at 15:00, Bloemfontein’s other club, Marumo Gallants, will kick off their campaign in Durban with an away match against Richards Bay FC.
