Burger King perfume?─── 15:14 Mon, 23 Mar 2015

When you’re hungry, catching a whiff of a fast food burger can be enough to entice you through the doors to make a purchase. But would it make someone attractive to you? That’s going to be a question with an answer next month as Burger King is launching a new perfume.
The perfume is called “Flame Grilled,” and as you’d expect it will have the fragrance of a freshly cooked flame-grilled Whopper. More specifically, the smell is beef mixed with mayonnaise, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and Burger King has also managed to sneak in a hint of fries smell, too. Irresistible, right?

If that sounds like your perfect body scent, then you’ll have to book a flight to Japan as that’s the only place Burger King intends to sell it right now. At 5,000 yen (US$42) a bottle it’s not cheap, but you do get a free flame-grilled Whopper to eat with every purchase.
If this sounds ludicrous, there’s a good chance it actually is and Burger King is using the perfume simply for marketing purposes. A very limited run of the fragrance is being produced, and it will only be available on April 1st. So while it can’t be an April Fool’s joke due to the fact it has already been announced, you may be a bit of a fool deciding to purchase and wear this distinct odor. You may also remember back in 2008 Burger King pulled a similar stunt with the Flame body spray for men.
What I’m most curious about is whether Burger King has actually managed to bottle the smell of a Whopper. If they’ve got that down, then there’s a chance they’ll start pumping the fragrance out of its restaurants in an attempt to get hungry passer’s by to make a detour and fill their bellies.
