UK triple murder: Mother appears in court | News Article
London - The South African woman charged with killing three of her four children has appeared before a court in London.

Tania Clarence was arrested on Tuesday after the three bodies were found in her home.

Her husband Gary and the couple's oldest child were on holiday in South Africa at the time.

Clarence was called before magistrates in Wimbledon and was charged with the murder of the three children.

She appeared for the first time in public for killing four-year-old Olivia, and three-year-old twins Max and Ben.

Clarence spoke earlier to confirm her name, address and age.

The 42-year-old, who had given up her career as a graphic designer to care for her children, was remanded in custody until a preliminary hearing on 9 May.

Post-mortem examinations are believed to be ongoing on the three children, all of whom were suffering from a rare degenerative condition.

Meanwhile, it’s being reported that Clarence tried to commit suicide shortly before her arrest.

Unconfirmed reports suggest she was found in the bathroom with slit wrists.

Clarence was treated in hospital before being arrested.

Officials are yet to confirm the claims.
