Shandor Potgieter’s Bio
For those who haven't yet crossed paths with one of Central South Africa’s favourite sons, meet Shandor Potgieter—an award-winning radio personality, community champion, devoted father, and endurance athlete.
Born in Phalaborwa and raised across South Africa, Shandor’s journey from musician to radio personality began 10 years ago at OFM. His passion for broadcasting and connecting with people has earned him multiple Best of Bloemfontein awards for Favourite Radio Presenter and Favourite Radio Show, a South African Radio Award for Community Project, and a place among the South African 40 Under 40 award winners.
His impact extends far beyond the studio. Once weighing 136 kg and unable to run 500 meters, Shandor transformed his life through fitness, progressing to ultra-endurance challenges and Ironman competitions. His 100 km self-navigated mountain trail race raised more than R350,000 for Reach for a Dream.
A passionate advocate for community upliftment, Shandor continually uses his platform to inspire, unite, and make a difference through radio, charitable initiatives, and community sports.
For Shandor, success isn’t measured by awards, finish lines, or accolades, but by the life touched along the way. Whether behind the microphone or out on the road, his mission remains the same: to inspire people, push boundaries, and leave a lasting impact.

Margaret Whitfield's Bio
Born and raised on a farm near Viljoenskroon in the Free State, Margaret attended Eunice high school and went on to complete an LLB at the University of the Free State. Her journey through several legal avenues led her to specialise in Liquor Law.
During her varsity and article years, DM Magpie did some club DJing and spinning the decks stuck. Now you’ll find her setting the mood for parties and heating up the dance floor at weddings of which she does 25 to 30 a year!
Lockdown didn’t have her resting on her laurels though, her love for English compelled her to complete a TEFL course to keep busy.
One would not guess that Margaret is a newbie when it comes to radio, maybe proof that all the pretend shows she used to record in her room as a child paid off.
She loves how the medium connects people and hopes to bring across a fresh and honest perspective coupled with some good humour.
When she’s not on the ones and tows, dotting i’s, crossing t’s, or learning new skills, Margaret loves spending time with her Dachshund/Yorkie named ‘Guiness’. She adores finding and listening to new music, hanging out with friends, meeting interesting people and observing society, good wine and coffee in hand.
Small wonder then her favourite quote is from Abraham Lincoln, “Whatever you are, be a good one.”
