Andre, Zelda and WR's Biography

André Kunz

Newcastle born André Kunz counts himself as one of the many TUKS FM graduates currently enjoying thriving radio careers. Andre is proud to host the Number 1 afternoon drive show in central South Africa. His determination in driving you home with a smile, has seen him nominated as Radio Presenter of the Year in the 2014 Huisgenoot Tempo Awards as well as walking away with the Best of Bloemfontein Award in the Best Local Radio Show category in 2014 and 2015. In 2017 the Afternoon Delight was nominated for a Liberty Radio Award in the category for best afternoon drive show. André not so secretly still dreams of becoming a singing sensation, but for now he plays his guitar for his daughter Gia, who is his biggest fan. In his spare time André is an avid clay target shooter.

Zelda Goetz

“Thank you. You give me a reason to live. You give me a reason to smile. You are a friend.” These words were said to Zelda Goetz in passing by a homeless gentleman who made a point of listening to OFM every night from a small cellphone radio. It was upon hearing these words that Zelda knew she had found her chosen path and today these words continue to ignite her passion for radio. Zelda matriculated from Saint Michael's School for Girls in Bloemfontein in 2007, then while following her passion in Fine Arts, she was discovered by chance in 2012, where her story with OFM began. Zelda started off by joining the OFM’s Street Squad and was offered an on-air training position in 2014. After a year of sharpening her skills, Zelda joined the OFM on-air team to host a midnight show. A year after of being a night owl she was brought into the light to join the "Afternoon Delight" drive time team. Having fun, focusing on the positive and uplifting others is what makes her tick.

WR van der Merwe

WR started as a Breakfast Show Presenter on PUKfm 93.6 at the North West University in Potchefstroom in 2012 while completing a degree in economics and international trade. He joined the OFM Street Squad shortly after starting in Potchefstroom and moved on to become the ‘Eye in the Sky’ at the annual Nampo Harvest Day and joined OFM in Bloemfontein full time in 2016. He recently received his honours degree in economics, but enjoys his passion of radio full time on OFM. WR loves travelling, experiencing other cultures and is always keen to learn a new language. He lives his life by remembering the age old saying: “Plesier voor pret”.
