NW double murder accused remanded in custody─── PULANE CHOANE 15:34 Fri, 05 Oct 2018
The 31-year-old man accused of a double murder, Lesego Swanepoel, was denied bail yesterday at the Molopo Magistrate’s Court in Mmabatho.
This is according to police spokesperson in the North West, Amanda Funani, who said that Swanepoel’s next court appearance would be on 29 November and police would be further investigating the case. Swanepoel is accused of killing his 29-year-old girlfriend and her 52-year-old mother last week Tuesday in Lonely Park, just outside Mahikeng, after allegedly shooting them.
He was caught last week by members of the Mahikeng Flying Squad and Business Watch in Setlagole, 70km from Mahikeng, after trying to flee from the police.
He faces further attempted murder charges for shooting at his 2-year-old daughter, as well as his girlfriend’s 25-year-old brother.
