Centlec restores power to some Mangaung areas─── LUCKY NKUYANE 16:16 Mon, 29 Apr 2019

Langenhoven Park, Spitskop and Dan Pienaar in Mangaung in the Free State are some of the areas where power has been restored by the Mangaung Metro Municipality’s power entity Centlec in the afternoon on Monday 29 April 2019.
This is according to the entity’s spokesperson, Lele Mamatu. Though the power has been restored to these areas he says efforts to try and uncover the problem behind the massive power outages that hit most areas in the Metro today have not yet yielded results.
He says speculations that the power outages are related to the recent incident where a suspected cable thief was electrocuted on Friday at a substation in Naval Hill, are incorrect. Mamatu says the entity will continue with efforts of trying to restore power to the rest of the affected areas and once power returns it will happen so systematically.
Earlier residents reported that power outages by the entity have hit areas to the north as far as a Wild Olive Estate, to the south as far as Uitsig and Memoriam, and as far as Langenhoven Park in the west and Estoire in the east. “Centlec wishes to apologise for this unplanned interruption and will request all electricity users to treat appliances as live as power may be restored at any time,” says Mamatu.
