Three to appear in court over taxi route feud in NW─── 14:27 Tue, 07 Jan 2020

Three people who have been arrested regarding a taxi route feud in Ottosdal in the North West, are set to appear before the Ottosdal Magistrate's Court today.
According to police spokesperson, Aafje Botma, the three were arrested yesterday after blocking Voortrekker Street. OFM News' Joba Matsheng spoke to the provincial spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, Alpheus Keonyaditse, who confirmed that five taxis from the long-distance taxi association were impounded by traffic officials.
OFM News previously reported that two taxi associations in Ottosdal have been fighting over taxi routes since the start of the festive season. This, after a long-distance taxi association indicated their intention to make use of a certain taxi route in the area and charge commuters half-price.
