The Free State power distributor Centlec has issued a warning of planned power outages to residents across Mangaung.
Centlec released a long list of areas in the Metro where load-shedding stage 1,2 and 3 will likely occur for a maximum of 1 to 2 hours, depending on the instituted stage.
Since as early as Friday the entity has been affecting the planned power outages to thousands of residents for the first time since the National Lockdown due to the coronavirus (Covid-19).
On Saturday Centlec said stage 2 load-shedding was set to affect areas which include among other, Westdene, Bochabela, Fichardpark, and Willows.
Meanwhile, on Friday Eskom said "this load-shedding has been caused by an increase in plant breakdowns exceeding 3 000 Mega Watts of capacity.
The ailing power utility said it was working hard to return as many of these generation units to service. It further said "while five generation units were taken off the grid on Thursday and Friday, a breakdown at the Matimba power station has resulted in the need for load-shedding.
