A 17-year-old boy was found guilty of the murders of Deon (44), Christel (43) and Marthella Steenkamp (14) on their farm Naauwhoek near Griekwastad on 6 April 2012. He was also found guilty of raping Marthella and defeating the ends of justice.

Two year later, Northern Cape Judge President Frans Kgomo found a 17-year-old teenager guilty of the triple murders of the Steenkamp family.

Kgomo said in his judgement that the teenager murdered the Steenkamp couple and their daughter because they would bear witness to their daughter’s rape.

There was no unknown attacker on the farm who committed the murders as the dogs would have barked.

This week the sentencing proceedings started. The sentence might be delivered (tomorrow) on 16 May 2014. Many people are speculating on the sentence the minor should get and some even wonder whether the minor is truly guilty.

Here are some of the pictures telling the story after the murders happened.
