Bloemfontein - Alleged kidnapper Fannie Mathebula is expected back in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court today.
The case against the 24-year old was postponed to today to allow him a chance to consult with his new lawyer, Gideon Hanekom.
Mathebula was arrested for allegedly kidnapping an 8-year-old girl in Glen, just outside Bloemfontein, on June 10. It’s alleged that he offered the child, together with two other children, aged 10 and 15 respectively, a lift to school. All three accepted the lift. However, the two older children managed to jump out of the car before Mathebula sped off with the youngest child. He was, however, stopped by traffic officials not too far from the scene, and the child was rescued unharmed.
