R1 million reward offered after cash-in-transit robbery | News Article

Hazyview - SBV Protection Services has posted a R1 million reward for information regarding a cash-in-transit heist near Hazyview, Mpumalanga, yesterday.

All four guards were injured, one critically, while trying to fight off their attackers. SBV managing director, Mark Barrett, says the company is offering the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.

He says they were working with authorities to catch them. The guards were transporting money to Ximhungwe Spar when a grey Mercedes E-Class crashed into them and forced them to a stop between Cunningmoore and Mkhuhlu at around 09:00 yesterday.

They blew open the cash van's roof and shot and injured three of the guards. The fourth was treated for teargas inhalation. The robbers fled with an undisclosed sum of money.
