Stage production asks: Where does the sun wait before it rises?─── 08:49 Tue, 14 Mar 2023
Where does the sun wait before it rises? Is a play that addresses society’s response to woman in the LGBTQIA+ community within our South African Cultural Kinesphere.
The play speaks to GBV and the realities faced by woman of all ethnic backgrounds through four woman, who are supported and accompanied by a 3 woman Greek chorus-esque troupe, whilst they grapple with the past, life in isolation, grief and renewal.
Mid-Morning Magic’s Yolanda Maartens is joined by Sibahle Mabaso to chat about the upcoming shows taking place 16, 17, 18 March at Pacofs Studio 2.

South Africa has a complex and often painful history of discrimination against marginalized communities, including woman in the LGBTQIA+ community. Despite legal protections and advancements in rights, many members of this community still face discrimination, violence, and exclusion from society
"Where does the sun wait before it rises?" is a reminder of the beauty and potential of a society that embraces diversity and fosters inclusion. By working together, we can create a brighter future for all.
