Danre Strydom from the Odeion School of Music joins Yolanda Maartens in the OFM Art Beat as she highlights that the symposium is dedicated to the art of beginner recorder teaching and promises to be an enriching experience for all participants.

The symposium will feature a comprehensive programme designed to enhance your recorder teaching skills and provide valuable insights into the world of recorder playing. Highlights of the event include:

Interactive Teaching Workshops (14 February): Element of Prime will guide you through effective teaching techniques for beginners, offering valuable tips and strategies to make learning the recorder an engaging and enjoyable experience.

Ensemble playing for players of all levels (14 February): While teachers take part in the teaching workshops, learners/students will be divided into ensemble groups and coached for a concert presented on the 15th at noon (12:00).

Masterclasses (15 February): Selected learners/students/players of all levels will perform in masterclasses – for all teachers and players to attend.

Whether you are a seasoned recorder teacher or a budding player, this symposium is designed to cater to all levels of expertise. It’s a fantastic opportunity to expand your knowledge, connect with fellow musicians, and be inspired.
