2025 Youth Festival showcases young soloists in an unforgettable evening of music─── 09:00 Tue, 22 Jul 2025

The Free State Symphony Orchestra proudly presents the 2025 Youth Festival Concert taking place on Saturday, 9 August, at the Odeion Auditorium, Bloemfontein.
This bi-annual event brings together South Africa’s greatest young soloists for an unforgettable evening of music. Performing alongside the FSSO under the baton of Daniel Boico, these soloists will showcase a rich and varied programme featuring instrumental and vocal works.
Pianist Karlin Olivier and violinist Kitso Moreeng join Yolanda Maartens in the OFM Art Beat to share their enthusiasm.
* Kursief: albums, bundels, operas, musiekblyspele, tentoonstellings, video's, uitvoerings, opvoerings
* Aanhalingstekens: Hoofstukke, liedjies, bedrywe, episodes/aflewerings, gedigte, artikels en verhale in tydskrifte, essays, pamflette, brosjures, proefskrifte (wat nie in boekvorm verskyn het nie), toesprake, debatte, lesings, werksessies

- Wieniawski: Violin Concerto No. 2 – Second & Third Movements (Helen Liu – violin)
- Handel: Alcina – “Ma quando tornerai” (Karabo Rabaloi – soprano)
- Binge: Concerto for Alto Saxophone – Second & Third Movements (Courtney Esau – alto saxophone)
- Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 4 – First Movement (Karlin Olivier – piano)
- Mozart: The Magic Flute – “O zittre nicht, mein lieber Sohn” (Xoliswa Memane – soprano)
- Gregson: Tuba Concerto – Second & Third Movements (Kamvelihle Sanqela – tuba)
- Glazunov: Méditation for Violin and Orchestra (Kitso Moreeng – violin)
- Vivaldi: Concerto in C Major (F. III, No. 6) – First Movement (Sias Sevenster – cello)
- Prokofiev: Piano Concerto No. 1 (Dané van Graan – piano)
