Whether you’re a history enthusiast, outdoor lover, collector, or simply looking for a unique morning out, the annual Gentlemen’s Tea promises an unforgettable country experience. The event is hosted by The Secret Artist's Club in collaboration with the Free State Weapons and Ammunition Collectors Association (SAWAVV).

The Gentleman’s Tea takes place on Saturday, 29 August, at Onze Rust Estate outside Bloemfontein, with guests arriving from 09:30 for a 10:00 start.

Despite its name, the Gentlemen's Tea welcomes both men and women to enjoy a relaxed social gathering celebrating craftsmanship, hunting heritage and traditional country hospitality. Guests are encouraged to embrace the occasion by dressing in classic country attire while enjoying tea, coffee and a selection of refreshments.

One of the highlights of the morning is SAWAVV’s fascinating show-and-tell exploring the history of traditional hunting rifles, offering visitors the opportunity to hear the stories behind these historic firearms and the people who preserve their legacy. Visitors can also browse a carefully curated exhibition featuring local artisans, custom knife makers, leatherworkers and other heritage-inspired exhibitors.

For those looking for a little more adventure, clay target shooting will be available under the supervision of experienced SAWAVV officials. No previous shooting experience is required, and beginners are welcome.
