#OFMBusinessHour: Sales for water filtration systems in urban SA rise─── 17:03 Sun, 25 Sep 2022

About 55% of sales for water filtration systems in the market are in urban areas as compared to 45% in rural areas.
This is according to Sebasti Badenhorst, the executive responsible for sales, marketing and distribution at the water storage company Jojo. This is a clear indicator that water quality in urban areas is becoming poorer as municipalities struggle to service growing populations.
According to Badenhorst, they have also seen a particular uptick in demand for pumps and filters in central South Africa. This is evidenced in some of the stories that have been written by OFM News.

The most recently reported area to find itself facing water cuts was the Moqhaka Local Municipality under which Kwêla's town of the year 2022 - Kroonstad - falls. Last week Moqhaka was forced to dispatch trucks to stranded residents. The municipality has blamed the situation on countrywide load-shedding which at present is at stage 4. The municipality says bulk water infrastructure cannot operate without electricity, often resulting in water supply in towns and cities being affected when there is load-shedding.
