The management of Intercape assures central South Africans that the acquisition of Big Sky bus liner will not lead to job cuts in the region.

Shaun Smeda, the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Intercape tells the OFM Business Hour that not only have they kept all the Big Sky personnel, but they have also kept the existing fleet of the Bloemfontein headquartered charter company. Even the contact details remain the same says Smeda.

It appears that the only significant change coming from the deal is that Intercape’s management will now take over the reins of the more than 20-year-old Free State based bus liner.

Smeda says what attracted them to Big Sky was the formidable brand and good safety record that the management of the 20-year-old Free State bus liner has built over the years. Intercape plans to take that good reputation and brand to new heights.

The Intercape CCO thanks the former management of Big Sky for “a very smooth transition of this deal. We want to compliment them for the exceptional brand that they have built over the years. They can rest assured that we will look after their clientele, and we will continue to grow the brand. And take it up another level”.
