Residents worried about 'Qwaqwa Shutdown' organisers' arrests─── 05:30 Mon, 27 Jan 2020

After the arrest of two “Qwaqwa Shutdown” leaders on Friday, residents have indicated they want them to be released as soon as possible.
Mphafi Mphari and Scotch Sikhosana were arrested after concerned residents met in Phuthaditjhaba Freedom Square.
Last week, residents of Qwaqwa in the Free State engaged in a total shutdown lasting at least three days; demanding water, as well as for the executive mayor Masetjhaba Mosia-Lakaje to step down.
Residents don’t believe she is doing anything to improve the water situation. Children could not go to schools and residents had no means of transport to work.
Maluti-A-Phofung 16 (MAP16) leader, Abiel Mokotso, says there is no tangible reason for the arrest of Mphari and Sikhosana.
