Ten suspects are expected to appear in the second biggest tender ring case in the Northern Cape next month.
In the latest case, another two suspects were arrested in addition to the initial eight arrests in the beginning of the week after seven years of investigations.
Hawks spokesperson, Nomthandazo Mnisi, says the details of the investigation into the involvement of the former CEO of the Department of Health in awarding a R74 million building renovation tender to renovate Kimberley Hospital is going to be laid bare in court next month. All suspects appeared in the Kimberley Magistrate's Court on Monday and Tuesday.
Former Chief Executive Officer, Gordon Moncho, and nine other suspects were granted bail of between R5 000 and R10 000 after pleading not guilty to charges of fraud, money laundering and corruption, according to Mnisi.
The case which entailed a seven-year long investigation of a contract that caused the provincial department a loss of R74 million in a contract valued at R494 million, was postponed to 5 August 2020.
Gordon Moncho is joined by nine other suspects, namely his daughter Naledi Moncho (28), Melisa Joys Barnes (36), Godfrey Boitumelo Moncho (51), Graham Whitten (64), Eugene Magalty (46), Derrick Mcdillon (61), Carlo Whitten (40) Beryl Mcdillon (60) and Mervin Ruiters (72).
The biggest case ever involved former Finance MEC, John Block, who went to jail after he was convicted and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.
