Tragedy strikes family of missing man─── OLEBOGENG MOTSE 10:45 Sun, 15 Nov 2020

Tragedy has struck the Lekhu family based in Kimberley, as prominent EFF member, Thabo Lekhu succumbed to COVID-19 complications this week.
Thabo is the older brother to Rrabatho Lekhu, who has been missing for over a year and a half. Fellow EFF Councillor, Baba Sebolao, confirms the elder Lekhu died in Bloemfontein on Saturday. He leaves behind two sons, his wife and mother. Thabo’s death has rocked the EFF in the Free State, with messages of shock and condolences being posted on social media. The deceased has been described as a passionate, and astute EFF member.
Meanwhile his younger brother remains missing. The 42-year-old Rrabatho was last seen in Kimberley’s Central Business District on Thursday 11 April 2019 at around 10:00 after a friend allegedly dropped him off at a car dealership in Du Toitspan Road. OFM News confirmed it was his older brother Thabo, who reported him missing two days later after the family had not heard anything from him.
Rrabatho was wearing shorts, a T-shirt as well as Adidas flip flops. Northern Cape police spokesperson, Tessa Jansen, said previously that police managed to get a hold of the younger Lekhu brother’s cellphone records through an application according to Section 205 of the Criminal Procedures Act.
The Act gives officials access to phone users’ metadata in phone records. This reveals who they have communicated with, when, and where. In Lekhu’s case, records show that his mobile lost network signal about five minutes after he was last seen alive.
OFM News understands that EFF leadership is set to meet with the bereaved wife of the deceased on Sunday. Sebolao has described Lekhu as a very active member of the party.
This is a developing story.
