OFM News previously reported that five men - suspected of illegally selling pre-paid electricity in the North West - have been nabbed by the Hawks. It was reported that the operation began in May 2020 in Bloemfontein, targeting this crime. Singo had also told OFM News that these sales were facilitated by unlawful vendors who are in possession of illegal electricity vending machines, which are believed to have cost Eskom millions in revenue. Meanwhile, the suspects are expected to appear before the Fochville Magistrate’s Court on Friday where they will be joining their 30 co-accused.
