Newborn found abandoned on Free State road─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 08:24 Tue, 15 Aug 2023
The Free State police are searching for a mother who abandoned a newborn baby girl who was found alive in Tumahole, at Parys.
The newborn baby was discovered by community members on 14 August 2023 at about 06:30 and the matter was reported at the Tumahole Police Station. Free State police spokesperson, Loraine Earle, said during the investigations the baby was found in the street near number 7884, Lusaka Section, in Tumahole. She was covered with blankets. She was taken to the hospital by medical service personnel.
Earle said the mother of the baby is unknown at this stage. She further requested the public to assist the police in locating the mother. The police are investigating a case of child abandonment.
